Michelle Rohr, with 35 years of experience in
mathematics education, has taught at the secondary level, supervised PK-12 teachers
in classroom instruction and served as Director of Mathematics in the Houston
Independent School District (HISD). As K-12 Mathematics Director, Ms. Rohr
developed and produced the district’s K-12 mathematics curriculum
(TEKS-based) and trained teachers in its implementation. She then developed
and implemented district-wide Snapshot (benchmark) tests aligned to the
curriculum. Ms. Rohr has done extensive work in vertical and horizontal
alignment of the curriculum to provide the strongest possible foundation for
students in preparation for the next level of mathematics as well as TAKS.
Active in the National Council Teachers of Mathematics, National Council
Supervisors of Mathematics and Texas Association of Supervisors of
Mathematics, Ms. Rohr has served on state and national committees and made
presentations on all aspects of the reform movement in mathematics. Please feel free
