Jeff McCoy has ten years of experience in data quality
and compliance with the Houston Independent School District (HISD). Mr.
McCoy’s experiences in data quality and integrity encompass both the campus
and district levels. As data manager for the HISD Alternative District, Mr.
McCoy implements, coordinates and supervises all functions and activities
related to data quality for over fifty alternative and charter schools. In
order to avoid potential data problems, Mr. McCoy performs desk audits of the
PEIMS data and meets reporting standards set by the Commissioner of
Education. He provides training in the use of data analysis concepts and
procedures, interprets the impact of legislative requirements in reporting
practices, and provides appropriate documentation of procedures to validate
PEIMS data. Mr. McCoy has technical expertise in PID, EDIT+ and the design of
System Query Language (SQL) for major PEIMS data categories in state and
